Happy Valentine's Day

Last night, I had to work on Taft's gifts for school.  I once again waited until the last minute.  I think that I need to get started on St. Patrick's Day right now.
So - for his friends in calls and his teacher, we did cute little gift bags with his card on the front.  The friend bags had three types of candy that he pick out.  The bag for the teacher had her favorite Hershey Bars with almonds.  We also tied a balloon to hers.
I ordered the chevron bags from KraftBits on etsy.com.  They are 5x7.  You can find the store hereDeb was great and the fastest shipper I have ever seen.  She has a lot of cute bags and supplies in her shop.
The cards with the cute dinosaur are from Green Apple Paperie.  Also on etsy.  I also ordered Taft's birthday party goodies from Katie last year.  They were awesome and I look forward to working with her more in the future.
I just filled the bags and punched two holes in the bag and cards so that I could tie them with twine.  Very easy.
I also loved how they looked in the green basket for Taft to take them to school in.
And you see that white basket in the background?  That was filled with little gifts for the employees at the school.  Taft loves going room to room to take gifts when it is a holiday.  He gives to each teacher, the cook, and the office employees.  This year I hear he also gave some to some mothers that he met in a classroom.  What can I say, he likes spreading cheer.
I made 4x6 photos in PicMonkey.com and printed them out.  Then we hot glued the Starburst Fruit Chews right on them and threw them in the basket.
Now on to the next holiday....

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have been thinking about what to do for Taft's class and school for Valentine's Day for months.  Pinterest has been too much help.  I found so many ideas on there that I loved but had to narrow it down a bit.  I already have a nice idea list for next year.  I can't believe that he will be Pre-K by then!
I loved the shovels with the "I Dig You" tags so much.  Theywere everywhere on the internet.  Let me just saw that finding the sand shovels was a little hard.  I didn't need the buckets and I didn't need to buy 500 at one time.  I finally found some that I loved and got them for about 60 cents each online.  They are very sturdy and a nice size for the kids.  Then we just picked Rice Krispie Treats and Fruit Gummy snacks to go inside.  Taft loved them!

Taft also lots of employees at his school and MANY of them have daily contact with him.  We have started just getting something small for the holidays that he can give out to them.  I found an adorable site that had liquid hand soap with tags.  It was practical and useful.  The problem is that that soap can get expensive when you are getting around 20 gifts.  I decided on bar soap.  I found the Dial Glycerin Cranberry bars on sale at Target.  10 bars for $3.50.  I wrapped each little box in pastel tissue paper and put labels on the front that say "I was SOAPING you'd be my Valentine".  Taft had a great time giving them out this morning.
And big help goes out to my friend, Cricut.  Without him, nothing would have hearts since cutting them by hand would be a crime.

Be My Valentine

We decided to take a few photos today in hopes of making a simple, photo Valentine for Taft to take to school.  I added the colors and text myself instead of using a premade card at one of the online sites.  That way we only pay for a 4x6 print.  That's 19 cents each at Walgreens.  I was pretty happy about that.
Of course - photos are never for certain with a two year old and Taft was not in the best picture taking mood today.  I honestly thought that I had nothing.  We got a lot of these...
"I am not going to look at you and smile", and of course

"Is this what you want?".  But then we got these...

The one on top is for the teachers and staff at his school.  The other two are for his friends.  I will just print and they will be give out randomly.
I will post later about his little gifts for his class.

Happy Heart Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Taft was very excited to see that Cupid came during the night and dropped off a few little gifts for him. He loves balloons so he went straight for them. He got a coloring book, crayons, a Kit Kat, and a ball and bat. We waited until last night to go and get him some things so we were lucky that they had balloons left. Hence the reason that he got pick instead of red. Red was sold out.
He went for the Kit Kat first thing. He loves Kit Kat and Reese's Cups. He has to wait until snack time to eat it though but I know that he will love it. In fact - he will only get half today and half tomorrow.

All week I had the breakfast that I wanted to cook him in my mind. But - we waited until last night to pick up the items. I wanted strawberry muffin mix. We went to Target, Publix, and finally Winn-Dixie to find it. Red food coloring was also a little hard to find to color his eggs. I already had a mini muffin tin and they were the perfect size for him. I wondered if he would eat the omelet but he had no problem digging in and eating every bite.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Taft and I spent most of the day out shopping and doing a lot of window shopping. Shane wanted us out of the house and out of the way while he cleaned all the tile in house. Of course I didn't mind since he was cleaning and I wouldn't have too. Taft and I went to BabiesRUs and they had balloons outside to show that they were having a clearance sale. He loved them! I have never noticed him paying attention to balloons before. He was even talking to them. After we finished shopping I noticed that a few people in the parking lot where carrying Valentine balloons. They all seemed to be close to Dollar Tree so I thought that I would give it a try. And of course look for cute Easter decorations while we were at it. We walked in and Taft didn't know what to do. There were balloons everywhere. I picked him one out and he talked to it as we walked through the store. I noticed him talking to it in the car on the way home. He really seems to love it. He was also happy to see that he got a few cards in the mail and of course one from mommy and daddy. Now it's off to the next holiday!
I had to add a little close up of the sweet boy!
