Children's Book Day

Tomorrow is National Children's Book Day.  It is meant to encourage children to read and to promote the love of books.  April 2nd was chosen since it is the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen.
I thought that I would take the opportunity to show you a few of the books that Taft loves right now.
The Pout Pout Fish:

When I first heard his teacher reading it to the class, I thought that it was a little strange.  After reading it myself, I love it too.  The grumpy old fish learns to love and it has a great ending.

This is a new book that Gran brought just in time for Easter.  Since Taft's favorite stuffed animal of all time is his bunny, he loves to read about them too.

Since Dr. Seuss Week at school, this has been a big favorite.  We had a copy at home and a friends brought Taft a few book that they out grew.  This was one and when Taft saw me give it to his class at school, he was in a panic.  He thought that we gave his away.  That took a little explaining.

Madison Craft Studio - Etsy Store Review

 I had wanted a necklace that symbolized Taft.  I found this Etsy store and was in love with the bunny necklace.  Lucky for me,  Shane and Taft decided to get it for me!  This is the photo from the store itself.  The only difference in the one that I got is that mine has a letter T.



The necklace has 3/8" sterling silver disc hand stamped with a single letter. Mine has a sterling silver bunny charm (but she has LOTS to pick from) and you can pick a Swarovski crystal birthstone or a little pearl.  I choose the 18" chain but she also offers a 16".  It is small and tasteful and could be wore everyday.
This is the perfect necklace for me!  If anyone knows my sweet little boy, they know that he carries his bunny with him everywhere.  I showed him the necklace and asked if he knew what it was.  He quickly told me that it was a bunny and a letter T.  I asked him what it stood for and he said, "Me!".  I told him that I am going to wear it everyday and asked him why.  He said, "Because you love me!". 
I really do love it and ordering it was a breeze.  It is hand made and still only took one week to get to my house.  You can check out more of what she has here.

December Daily - Day 13

Day 13 - Today is the day that we will talk about Bunny and his Holiday sweater. We started getting Bunny clothing this fall when we realized that he is going to be around us a lot. Taft LOVES this rabbit. So much in fact that we know if he got lost we would have a REAL problem. With that being said, Gran found one on ebay and got it for him. Now we have two to rotate out and just in case.

Halloween Bunny

Our sweet boy loves his Easter Bunny. It was love at first sight. From the moment he saw the cute, white, bunny, he wanted to take him places. He started with just holding him and rubbing an ear as he went to sleep for naps. When he stopped having a bottle at night, he started holding Bunny. Now when he is upset, Bunny makes him feel better. We take him to get haircuts (which he hates), to the doctor, and shopping at times. Bunny has been lots of places. Here at home we see Taft walking around holding Bunny by one or both ears depending on his mood. I have to say that I wish he picked another animal just due to the fact that Bunny is white. Thank goodness he washes well in the machine. Of course, we tell Taft that he is at PetSmart getting a bath. =)

Today Taft and I went to Michael's to see if there were clothes for Bunny. His shirt is sewn to him so we are always saying Happy Easter. The stuffed bear clothes there will work just fine. They are a little big, but they work. They had a black and a purple Halloween sweater. I let Taft pick and he did great. I hope they have them for other holidays. For $3 Bunny gets a new look.

Cruise Day 3 - Fun Day at Sea

Day three was Easter, my birthday, and a full day at sea. Taft woke up early and the first thing that he noticed when I put him on our bed was his basket in the window. He got ALF season 1, eggs, a connecting toy, and a stuffed bunny. He seemed to like it all and loved playing with the little boy themed eggs.
After getting showers, Taft and I went to breakfast in the dining room while Daddy slept. We strolled around the ship and looked at all the shops on board. Then we went back to the dining room for lunch and strolled some more. Finally we got Daddy to get up and around and take a few photos, enjoy being out on the deck, and visited with others in our group.
Of course after Taft's nap it was time for dinner. We all enjoyed our last night of Chocolate Melting Cake. The waiters sang Happy Birthday to me and he started to scream. It was loud and he didn't understand. His friend Romeo made him feel better. Romeo was a waiter during the day on the pool deck and in the dinning room at night. Taft loved him and always smiled when he was around.
