Taft is a special child. I think that he is well rounded in certain areas. Playing and liking all types of toys is one of those. He likes traditionally girl and boy toys. I think that a lot of that has to do with his preschool. Since the classes are coed, so is the curriculum. They play with dolls and trucks, and with a kitchen and with digging in sand. At home, he has a kitchen and a workbench and even a child's ironing board. But - he loves his tools and train just as much.
Taft also is with me in the morning getting ready for school. When me hair was longer, he would dry his hair in the same manner with a brush. He often wants to watch me put on make up and wants to try some for himself. He has always gone with me to get nails done. After taking off my fake nails, I would paint them on Sunday with clear polish and he would want it on his too. Which we would do. And he likes to go outside with Shane and "help" cut grass and work on the car.
With that said...

I asked him later about wearing a dress and he said he wanted mommy to wear one "but not daddy". I think that the dress was prettier and in nice colors. I am not sure that he understood that it was supposed to be a self portrait. Maybe he made his mommy or he just likes girls. Either way - I love it.
