I looked forward to Taft's Preschool children/parents lunch for the past week. We were the first to sign up in Taft's class. Last night, I made homemade cornbread dressing and gravy to take. Everything was packed and ready to go. Taft's Thanksgiving t-shirt was ready to wear. Then.... 3 am came.
Over the monitor, I heard Taft coughing and start to cry. Then I heard, "Mommy!". He was vomiting. He was telling me his tummy hurt. We got cleaned up and tried to lay on the sofa. Then we started again. Over the next few hours, we kept repeating clean up, lay down, throw up. Even water made him sick. We decided to stay home.
Taft and I feel asleep on the sofa at about 8 am. Shane went to work and took our food buy the school. Then next thing I knew, it was 11. He woke up and told me he felt better. He had an afternoon of Pedialyte Popsicles. After a 3 hour nap, he is back up and still seeming to be OK. A little diarrhea and some "tummy hurt, mommy." We're just hoping for a nice bath and calm evening before bed. And of course - a well little boy in the am.
The school did say that other kids were out and even a teacher. They also send plates of food home for us. Maybe we can make it to the Christmas party.
