Daytona Children's Museum

Yesterday, my neighbor Lauren and I decided to take her daughters and Taft to the Children's Museum which is in the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts and Sciences. During the summer, all children are free at the museum. This is great since they only want to see things once and it makes a great little trip for the morning followed by lunch and then the drive home.
The children's part has work benches for building, a build your own race car section that you get to race your car, a motorcycle ride, build your own roller coaster, power circuits, and lots of ropes and climbing toys and gears on the walls.

Then there is a Pizza Place. It is set up like a restaurant with tables for the mommy's, a cash register, aprons, and pizza supplies. Cate and Alex made pizza for Taft, Lauren, and I.

What I didn't really expect was the baby/toddler section. They have this great little room set up for the little ones. Places to tumble, balls, sorting toys, mirrors, and things. The older girls were very nice to set on the little sofa and let Taft enjoy his section with mommy.

And of course, you can't have a science museum without something medical. There is the I want to be a radiologist section. This one is so cool. They have a little waiting area for patients (were Taft hung out) and x-rays on the walls. There are computers set up to teach the kids about x-rays. And a very cool dark room where everything glows.

We did check out the rest of the museum while there. Lots of old cars, a pharmacy set up, toys, and of course, art. I think that the girls liked the antique train cars pretty well.
