Pumpkin Carving- October 31st

We did pumpkin carving on Halloween.  It is so hot here that a carved pumpkin will not make it longer than a day.  Last year, Taft didn't want anything to do with the carving.  He didn't want to touch them and didn't seem to notice them very much outside.  I hoped that this year would be better.  I even set up the carving outside in case he wanted to play in the seeds and guts.  He didn't.
He was amazed by his pumpkin with a candle though.  And yes, he kissed it.

Pumpkin Carving

Taft and I got up early this morning (as usual) and got started on the pumpkin carving. We all went to the store last night to "pick" our pumpkins and tried to get them to look like our family. Shane said that Taft's pumpkin and his head are about the same size. Mommy did all the carving and getting the pumpkins ready. Taft's pumpkin was carved for him but he was able to play with the guts and watch as we popped out the eyes, nose, and mouth. He looked at it like it was a person and really smiled when we were able to light the candle. Can't wait until he seems them tonight in the dark.
