Colossal Coaster World | VBS 2013

Taft went to VBS for the first time this year.  He was all registered to go last year and then he got sick.  He had a tummy virus that had us at the ER for fluids and then with his immune system down he ended up with pneumonia all month and just wasn't well enough to attend.
This year he was SO looking forward to going.  The church that we attend doesn't do a VBS (they do an away camp for kids instead) so we decided to go to First Baptist of Palm Coast.  It was a great decision.  They have an incredible program and we can't wait to go again.
VBS started on Sunday so that on Friday night it was Family Night.  The children sang and all the parents were able to go to their rooms and see everything that he had been doing during the week.  They also had the gym set up as a little carnival since the theme this year had to do with theme parks.  They had bounce houses, face painting, cotton candy, lemonade, and balloons.  A local business,
Galactic Freeze, was there to make ice cream and some of the proceeds from the ice cream purchase went toward one of the missions that children had been working on.  They were raising money to help buy a clean water well in Peru. Here a few photos from the last night.

This is how Taft started each night.  The Preschool building had a mini roller coaster to take the kids to their rooms.

This is his new favorite shirt!

He wanted this to stay on forever.
Galactic Freeze making his strawberry ice cream.  I am sure that I ate more of it than he did.  He was too excited to be in the bouncy houses.

Did any of you go to VBS this summer?  Did you have the same theme?

Have a great weekend!

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize that they were the big things.
