It is Book Club Friday again and I am linking up with Blonde, Undercover Blonde. This link up is every Friday and you can review any book that you like. So - head on over and find some great books to add to your list. This week I read Summer Crossing by Truman Capote.
Here is the description on Goodreads:
Thought to be lost for over 50 years, here is the first novel by one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century.Set in New York during the summer of 1945, this is the story of a young carefree socialite, Grady, who must make serious decisions about the romance she is dangerously pursuing and the effect it will have on everyone involved.
Fans of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Capote’s short stories will be thrilled to read Summer Crossing.
What did I think:
I loved Breakfast at Tiffany's and generally love anything about Capote. He was a little before his time I think and he is just fasionating.
I liked this book. I think that it truley may have been unfinished. I can see where things could have been elaberated on a little more and characters that could have had a bigger role in the book.
All in all, it was very good. I think that Capote would be happy that it was found and published.
