{Book Club Friday}: Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

It is Book Club Friday again and I am linking up with Blonde, Undercover Blonde. This link up is every Friday and you can review any book that you like. So - head on over and find some great books to add to your list.
Today I am reviewing Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks.

Here is the synopsis from the author's website:
When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family.
But even as Katie begins to fall in love, she struggles with the dark secret that still haunts and terrifies her . . . a past that set her on a fearful, shattering journey across the country, to the sheltered oasis of Southport. With Jo’s empathic and stubborn support, Katie eventually realizes that she must choose between a life of transient safety and one of riskier rewards . . . and that in the darkest hour, love is the only true safe haven.

This is a very fast read.  I have yet to read a book by Nicholas Sparks that I didn't like.  This one is no exseption.  It even ends with a little twist that may not have seen coming.  I loved it!

  4. I like the way Nicholas Sparks incorporates North Carolina in his books. A perfect place for a love story. My love stories are placed elsewhere, but maybe I'll put one love story in North Carolina (or South Carolina, what's better?). On a side note, your blog is amazing and your content is even better. Keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you so much Jeff! I love to read and I just added your book Forever My Lady to my reading list. I will be sure to review it on here. I also signed up on your website.
And I think that you should write a love story in the deep South. Maybe Alabama. I am a big fan of Alabama. ;0
