Walking!!

Taft has been taking a few solo steps here and there for a few months but not really wanting to let go of his cruising ways. This past week, he just woke up one morning and started to walk across the room. Since then he has mostly been a walker/wobbler here at home. We went to visit friends and he was a speed crawler when we first got there since he can still check things out faster that way. After a little while he showed them his new talent also.
He is very proud of himself with all that he can do and even stops to clap for himself. =)
Taft and I went to look for shoes since we will be wearing them now. I picked out a cute little brown pair that look so grown up. He liked them and walked around the store a little. Then he got close to the shelves and grabbed a blue pair. I was lucky that they were in his size and one sale for $5 because he was not hearing that he could not have them.

A Few Things That Taft Has Been Up To This Month...

Taft is showing new signs of growing up almost daily. Here are just a few of the things that I have noticed and been able to capture this month.

When I can't find a sippy cup on the floor in the family room,
it is in the window at the end of the hall.
This is one of his favorite places to go and I have to
say that it is nice to see it there and not in the floor leaking.
He ha also started to copy Mommy and Daddy more.
It is pretty funny to watch him try to get the hat
on when he doesn't know that we are watching.
He always needs help with the glasses.

Alabama Trip Part 3 - Belton Family

While visiting the Belton family, Taft and I were able to go out to eat at Provino's in Opelika, with Gran, Uncle Scott, Aunt Teresa, Izzy, and Evan. Yummy!
We also were able to spend a lot of time with Izzy, Evan, and Jenna. Something that we don't get to do very often. Taft loved it.
Here are a few of the fun things that he got to do...

Play with Uncle Scott

Eat a cupcake. Since his birthday he has decided that he likes them.

Get a free balloon at Party City while shopping for Jenna's party supplies.

Hang out with Izzy, Evan, and Jenna.

Go to Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time.

Alabama Trip Part 2 - Friend Visit's

One thing that Taft and I got to do on this trip to Alabama was to stop and visit a few friends while we were in town.
Kendra and Hallie were home from Texas and at the Morris house. Since Kendra and I live in Texas and Florida, we are not in Heflin at the same time very often. It was great to get to see her and sweet Hallie. Taft seemed to have a great time with all the girly toys since all the Morris grandchildren are little girls.
When I was at Shane's mom's, I was able to have a little visit with Lisa and her hubby, Scott. Lisa and started working together at the Auburn University Medical Clinic in 2002 and became fast friends. It is always great to see her and I hope that on the next visit her children (Olivia, Andrew, and Bella) will be there too. Taft did enjoy Lisa's attack dog Spike. he was just the right size for him.
