Today is Show Us Your Life at Kelly's Korner, so I am linking up to her again today. Today's topic is Beauty Tips. I really don't have any exciting, secret beauty tips, but I do have a few things that I really love.
1. Skin care/acne prevention: I have been very lucky that I have never really had a problem with acne. Nothing that requires a dermatologist. My dermatology office does recommend a wonderful over the counter product. The Neutrogena Oil Free Face Wash. The key is to get the ones that have 2% Salicylic Acid. I like the scrubs but it also comes in a foaming face wash. As long as I use it twice it a day, I have no break outs. If I run out and use something else, the breakouts start, so I know that it works.
2. Make-Up: I was a big fan of Bare Essentials for years. It really works great and I love that you feel like you have on nothing. With that said, I am getting older and my skin is changing. I feel better with moisture on my skin. Right now I am loving Cover Girl Simply Ageless. It is foundation with Oil of Olay mixed in. It goes on easy and blends well.
3. Lips: I always have chapped lips. I have all my life and have to have something on them 24/7. I believe that it is because I take so many anti-histamines for my allergies. They dry up everything. My favorite lip balm is the Jack Black Lip Balm. It comes in a few "flavors".
For color I prefer lip gloss. Lip sticks feel dry to me no matter what I get. I love the Loreal Lip Gloss and I have used it for years. I use the color Rich Plum at the moment but I got back in forth between it and Rich Rose.
4. Nails: I have had acrylic nails on and off (more on than off) for the last 15 years. Whether my nails are fake or mine, I love the Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream. It smells nice too.
5. Hair: At the moment my hair is really long. Too long in fact, but I have no idea what I want to do with it once it is cut. I have oily hair but the ends get dry when it gets long. I love the Regis Olive Oil line. The hair mask is wonderful, especially in the summer if you are a sun person.
I am wearing that CG foundation today- I am 37 now, and have some small lines and wrinkles, and I think the Olay part of the product helps my foundation look better.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Jack Black lip balm is my most favorite lip balm ever! I love that both my husband and I can use the same product.
Check out Smith's Rosebud Salve for your lips. I have constantly chapped lips and this stuff is a dream!
ReplyDeleteSasha - I totally agree. the Olay part just makes me feel better. I know that I am helping my skin while wearing make up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea! I will have to look for that.
I use the Neutragena face wash, too. I don't think there are any makeup products in my house, lol.
