Penguin Awareness Day

                              Yes - it is Penguin Awareness Day.  Let me guess, you had no idea.  Not many people do it seems.  But it seemed like a nice holiday to celebrate with a 2 year old. 

We decided to have a special dinner for Taft.  He had fish sticks (since penguins eat fish) and mashed potatoes (since they look like snow).  He loved it. 

All week I was thinking about a special desert.  Cupcakes were the first thing that crossed my mind.  Taft has been asking for cake all week so it would work out perfect.  I mentioned that I was going to get cupcakes from the grocery store and look for some little penguins to go on top.  My friend at work, Yvette, suggested something a little different.  She said to get the Hostess cupcakes that are chocolate with white icing.  They kind of look like a tuxedo.  I thought that it was perfect.  I got them today and some red icing to add a little bow tie.  Taft was thrilled, mostly because there was cake.  He was a little surprised that they had cream in the middle.
